Sterling silver flatware service.  The flatware was manufactured by the Towle Silver Company, and is in the Mary Chilton No. 1 engraved pattern, designed in 1912.   It is marked: “Pat. 1912 Sterling”, and features bright-cut engraving.

Chest-of-drawers.  Four full-width drawers.  Bowfront.  Splay feet.

 

MATERIALS AND DIMENSIONS:

40 ¾ inches in height.  42 ½ inches in width.  21 inches in depth.

Mahogany solids and veneers.  Red pine secondary wood.



COUNTRY AND LOCALITY OF ORIGIN; DATE OF CREATION; ATTRIBUTION:

American in origin.  Maker or manufacturer unknown.  Probably created circa 1850.

 

QUALITY AND CONDITION:

Very Good Quality.  Very Good Condition.  Very good oxidation and patinization.
